I want to give you an update on my progress with your course from Sessions 1,2 and 3.

Successes with STAYSUCCESSFUL:

1) My Website is up! The content is vastly driven by my BNI and Stay Successful training. After I get back, it will be linked up to search engines, so I'll be accessible to internet research & incoming "cold calls."

2) Testimonial Letters. I have four great ones that represent different aspects of what I do. Excerpts from each are on my website, so please view them when you can at www.chaostocomfort.com.

3) My 5-word presentation: "Home and Office from Chaos to Comfort." (OK it's 7 but only 4 carry the content)

4) Strategic Appointment Questionnaire. While mine is still in its primitive state, I have implemented the practice of taking several minutes with each new client to address their concerns outside of our contractual relationship. As a result, in the last 3 instances, I have gotten 3 referrals from each client! Tomorrow I go to my BNI chapter with 6 referrals! What's more, my credibility has skyrocketed.

5) Ideal Client Profile. Business Owners who have fewer than 5 employees. How's that for clear!

6) Profit. Having worked only half the month of June, I have earned 1/3 more than any entire month to date! And my calendar of booked clients suggests that in July (after a 2-week vacation) my earnings will exceed June.

That's it for now. The STAYSUCCESSFUL course & tools are amazing - my thinking has become much clearer on how to grow my business. And I feel my grasp of "social capital" has given me an edge in my industry.

When I was invited to the STAYSUCCESSFUL course, I originally was hesitant to accept. Another alumni is my cousin, so in order to get her to finally stop asking me, I said "yes."

What I did not fully understand, was the tremendous value that the other class participants would bring to my business through a wonderful process of collaboration. I wanted to follow-up with you regarding our third Stay Successful session. My homework required that I write about a recent success story. The story was about a single mom who had bad credit and a lot of high-interest credit card debt. I was able to get her an equity line on her home, even with her very low credit score. She now pays about one-third the monthly payment, pays less interest, has already raised her credit score over 50 points by paying off the credit cards and will be fully paid off all debt in a 3-year payment plan. We discussed many aspects, including the importance and value of success stories.

Success for us happened this morning after I used this story during my BNI Aventura meeting sixty second commercial. A member referred his brother to me with almost the exact same situation. This client alone will likely pay for the next year of Stay Successful sessions for me.

It gives me great pleasure to write this testimonial for the information I received from your Stay Successful Coaching and BNI Organization as a proud member since December 2004. A few months ago I read your article on coopetition and started to think of which programs my business offers that other Mortgage Brokers and Banks do not have available. As the Reverse Mortgage Division for Stockton Turner & Company in the State of Florida I am an FHA approved lender.
In today’s environment there are many Mortgage Brokers that are not FHA approved because of cost and auditing factors. The reverse Mortgage product offers compensation to a referring Mortgage Broker or Bank that is not FHA approved and participates in the process of a Reverse Mortgage.

The first thing I did was to create a new BNI 60 second commercial to let my chapter members know what I was doing in my business and referrals of other Mortgage Brokers started. Next I contacted via telephone all the other Mortgage Brokers in the Dade County Miami BNI organization and spoke to them as a competitor and BNI Member and most of them were receptive to using our office for Reverse Mortgage’s which has created 4 new “coopetition” relationships for our business. Our Consultants are using the concept with other Brokers outside of BNI.

There is a story in the intelligence community about an agent who has completed his "tailing a subject" training.
He sits in a restaurant he has been to many times, and looks out at the busy street. In his "previous life" he would have seen people rushing about their daily lives, but on this day what he sees is an entirely different world: Police officers "tailing" criminals, undercover agents "tailing" subjects, and civilians going about their business entirely unawares.

At this morning's BNI networking event I felt like the agent in the story.
